Schoenaich Rees Landscape Architects have particular expertise in planting design. They have experimented with Robinsonian meadows since 1990. This technique of naturalising exotic plants in meadows was originated by the 19th century gardener William Robinson.

Experimental work carried out by Schoenaich Rees has greatly influenced the field of seasonal planting design. They have recently designed an annual meadow-like bedding scheme for the Eberswalde garden festival near Berlin, Germany. A design illustration for the festival is shown above.
